I have recently gotten dish networks satelite program, and my household has only two tv’s. The way that it is set up is so that there is only one box. TV number 1 is in my livingroom, and TV number 2 is in my bedroom. When someone sets a program to record from the recording scheduled timers (the place where it records on its own, and you can pick certain shows and what days you want it to record and such, if this helps because idk how to explain it very well. Sorry.) on TV number 1 it starts a count down on TV number 2 and then changes the channel to make the person watching TV number 2 watch the program that is being recorded by TV number 1. If the person watching TV number 2 tries to change the channel, its asks to stop recording the program. However, it does not do this if TV number 1 if TV number 2 is recording something. Is there anyway that I can stop this from happening? Its quite bothersom, and I do not want to be stuck watching everyone elses recorded programs all of the time.

So I’ve just recently moved and at my last apartment i was able to pick up the neighbors wireless with my laptop but at my new residence i can no longer do this.

Well when i contacted the cable company i told them i need highspeed internet and that was all. i then called back and told them i needed wireless and the representative told me it cost an extra $150 for them to do “household networking” i think she called it. I told her dont worry about it ill stick with the $19.95 plan. Well they came out today and hooked up a modem and my question is can my laptop pick up the signal from the modem or do i need to buy a router to pick it up???

I don’t know if this is a silly question but i don’t know much about this kind of thing and my company’s IT guy is on vacation. Any help would be great, thanks!!

my password is kept confidentially, but somehow can it be revealed by someone like, putting me with his network or spying my information. i heard about spouses or parents watching for their significant others or sons because of infedelity or security reasons. since someone from my household knows computer, it might be possible he’s keeping an eye onmy private stuff.

Totally out of nowhere my laptop decides to stop connecting to the wireless network (my household D-Link brand wireless modem set to public security) I’ve always been able to connect and now it just won’t. I’m pretty sure it’s not my laptop cause my my mobile phone won’t connect either, it won’t even find the netword anymore. any help would be awesome. i have no idea.
