Im not going to use the 2nd router to be wireless i only want it to be wired up and my 1st router is not using the wireless usb dongles its just wired up to my xbox 360 and ps3 so i want to use the LAN port of the 2nd router for my computer on the 3rd floor

Sometimes it also says it’s connected but local only.

I have a netgear router and AT&T DSL modem. I want both computers to be able to connect to the internet at the same time. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Netgear tech support and all they could do was switch the internet connection from my desktop to my laptop, but they couldn’t get both to work at once.

It doesn’t seem like it should be that hard. Can anyone help?

Basically im with orange broadband and i use a seimens router, but it only has 1 ethernet port and i want to connect both my xbox and pc, so can i connect my netgear router (with 5 ethernet ports) to the siemens via ethernet. than just plug my pc and xbox cables into the netgear?

Tried following info on netgear’s site. Disabled DHCP on Netgear router and changed IP to be within the range of the router that has the internet connection. However, even though I could access the internet, I could no longer access the Netgear router I’m trying to use as a WAP. I could access it until I try changing its IP. Some have said that you can’t get a router to convert to a WAP and still have LAN sharing capabilities, only internet access is possible, but that doesn’t seem right. Shouldn’t I still be able to access the router converted to a WAP and have regular LAN capabilities? Any ideas?
